Alumni Chapel Speakers

Monday, November 4 – Thursday, November 7

11 a.m. in the DeSantis Family Chapel

  • Monday, November 4 at 11 a.m. - Dabney Hedegard '96. 

Dabney is a writer, speaker, and professional patient who has battled 10 life-threatening illnesses, and four near-death experiences. Dabney blogs at Dabneyland.com, and has written a memoir, When God Intervenes: An Extraordinary Story of Faith, Hope and the Power of Prayer, chronicling nine of her miraculous medical encounters. Her book 90-Day Devotional for the Newly Diagnosed, from a Professional Patient will be released in 2020. Dabney and her husband, Jason, live in Palm Beach Gardens. She homeschools three of their children, while their eldest is in the Honors Program at PBA. 

  • Tuesday, November 5 at 11 a.m. - Josué Léon '11 MBA 

Josué Léon is one of the leading Partners at New York Life South Florida. Josué is married to Erika Leon who graduated from PBA with her BA in Dance Pedagogy in 2010. They have 3 children: Santiago (8), Annalise (5), Theodore (1). He enjoys serving on the PBA Alumni Board of Directors as a VP, and on the board of Children Home Society of Florida. When he is not working, he volunteers as a coach in the city of Palm Beach Gardens, and he fills in as a pastor at Family Church Gardens whenever his calendar allows. 

  • Thursday, November 7 at 11 a.m. - Brandon Marlow '17 

Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Brandon has been on staff at Christ Fellowship Church for over 8 years and currently serves as a Student and Young Adult Pastor. He enjoys spending time with his two nieces, eating Chick-fil-A, and was once slimed at Nickelodeon Studios!

Great American Bug Race 

Wednesday, November 6

Race a roach in one of PBA’s longest standing traditions! All proceeds of the event support the PBA Science Club’s research projects and experiential learning opportunities. Registration opens at 3 p.m. in the Rinker Parking Lot. $1 to enter, 50 cents per bug. Races are split into two categories: student and non-student. Gift card prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in both categories, and $100 cash grand prize! No registration necessary, and refreshments are available for purchase. The Bug Race is the perfect family event!

Tour the Archives

Visit the Archives and experience PBA’s history with photos and memorabilia from throughout the years! The Archives will be open for alumni tours Thursday, November 7 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Friday, November 8 at 11 a.m. No registration necessary. Ask the attendants at the front desk of the Warren Library for directions to the Archives on the third floor.

Alumni tours are also available throughout the year by appointment. Email archives@pba.edu to schedule a private tour that works with your schedule.

Alumni Celebration homecoming

Friday, November 8, 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Celebrate Homecoming with fellow Sailfish at the Lake Pavilion on Clematis Street in beautiful downtown West Palm Beach. All alumni are invited to attend and celebrate Palm Beach Atlantic University together! In addition, alumni from years ending in 4 or 9 can enjoy a celebration of their class reunion and an Archive display from their time at PBA. Distinguished alumni will be recognized and awarded for their accomplishments during the event.

Sailgating and Sailfish Jack'd

Saturday, November 9, 2 p.m

Greene Athletic Complex and Rubin Arena

Wear your Sailfish gear and join us for family-friendly Sailgating to cheer on the Sailfish Volleyball Team! Watch students and alumni compete in the Sailfish Jack’d strength competition and enjoy bounce houses, balloon artists, face painting and more fun for all ages. Food will be available for purchase .
