Humanities

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking adjunct faculty to teach interdisciplinary courses in the Humanities core classes, including a study of art, history, literature, music, and philosophy in a Christian context.
 
Qualifications: Master’s Degree with at least eighteen credit hours at the graduate level in art, history/political science, English/literature, or philosophy. Humanities sequence classes available: HUM 1013, HUM 1023, and HUM 1033. Applicants must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework. French Language and Literature

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking to employ an adjunct faculty member to teach one or more of the following courses: Elementary French I, and Intermediate French I.
 
Qualifications: Master's degree (or higher) in French is required, with experience in teaching French to non-native speakers as well as speakers of the language. Applicants must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework. English Composition

The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking adjunct faculty to teach expository and research writing to first-year students in a Christian context in one or more of the following courses:
 
  • Pre-Composition (ENG 0093) focuses on basic skills of composition.
  • Composition I (ENG 1113) is an introduction to academic expository prose, including the application of rhetorical patterns, a review of grammar, and an introduction to documentation.
  • Composition II (ENG 1123) concentrates on the writing of an extended academic argument with research and documentation.
Qualifications: Master's Degree (or higher) with at least eighteen credit hours at the graduate level in English. For the Pre-Composition course, experience in basic composition and ESOL is an advantage. Applicants must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework. Adjunct in Psychology (Undergraduate)

Required: The School of Arts & Sciences is seeking adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in the core areas of the psychology major. Classes may include General Psychology, Marriage and Family Dynamics, or Lifespan Development, with occasional opportunities to teach such upper-level electives as Health Psychology and Forensic Psychology.

Adjunct in Math/Computer Science

Required: The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Palm Beach Atlantic University is seeking an adjunct professor for the undergraduate program in Computer Science beginning Fall 2018.  
 
Qualifications: Applicants should have an earned Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or in a closely related field from an accredited institution. Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching.

Qualifications: Masters degree with a minimum of eighteen credit hours at the graduate level experience, including a thorough familiarity with professional video cameras, lights, microphones, and AVID editing applications. Applicants must have a Christian commitment and a the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework.
 

Journalism

The school of communication and Media is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in Journalism, including digital photography, photojournalism, investigative reporting, and online/web reporting.
 
Qualifications: Masters degree with a minimum of eighteen credit hours at a graduate level in journalism, photography, digital media production, or closely related field and significant professional media experience including a thorough familiarity with professional DSLR cameras, lights and Adobe Photoshop. Applicants must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework.
 

Theatre

Adjunct Athletic Training

Palm Beach Atlantic University's School of Education and Behavioral Studies is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program. Teaching assignment(s) may include any of the curriculum approved courses within the discipline, including the areas of general athletic training, emergency care, assessment, rehabilitation, administration, pharmacology or clinical care of patients. 

 

Qualifications: M.S., Ph.D. or Ed.D. Active Florida Athletic Training license and in good standing with the Board of Certification. Applicants must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework. 


School of Nursing

Nursing

Required: Masters Degree in Nursing, Florida Registered Nurse, BLS/CPR, 2-3 years of full-time teaching in nursing. Post Masters graduate work leading to doctoral degree in nursing or related area highly recommended. 
 
Responsibilities: Teaching BSN nursing students in both class and clinical environments in the areas of medical-surgical, psychiatric, or maternal/child nursing. Must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework.
 
Nursing

Required: Masters Degree in Nursing, Florida APRN License, BLS/CPR, 2-3 years of full-time teaching in nursing. Post Masters graduate work leading to doctoral degree in nursing or related area highly recommended.

Gregory School of Pharmacy

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Required: This position requires a terminal degree (PharmD, MD, PhD). Residency and/or other clinical experience desired. Adjunct faculty participate in the instruction of Doctor of Pharmacy students via a number of instructional methodologies in courses commensurate with the candidate's expertise and the School's needs.

The Orlando Campus is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach American Free Enterprise this summer. This course is delivered in an evening accelerated format for adult students over an eight week period. 

Course description: This course will apply classical economic theories and principles in an evaluation of the American free enterprise system. Philosophical worldviews as well as current macroeconomic and microeconomic concepts and issues will be presented and discussed to provide a basis for evaluating the performance of the U.S. economy.

Qualifications:  Master's degree (or higher) with at least eighteen graduate credit hours in either Economics or Public Administration. The Orlando Campus is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Survey of Finite Mathematics this summer. This course is delivered in an evening accelerated format for adult students over an eight week period.  

Course description: Introduction to topics selected from the following: logic and set theory, elementary linear algebra, introduction to linear programming, elementary probability and combinatorics, history of numbers, statistics and the consumer, geometry and art, and finance.
