Own Your Experience

The School of Music & Fine Arts at PBA offers a distinctive learning experience designed to set graduates apart and launch amazing careers. We’re one of just three schools in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities to offer a major in dance. You’ll be able to take part in more than a dozen vocal, choral and instrumental groups. Dance majors can participate in several dance concerts, showcases and productions each year, from classical to contemporary. And you’ll enjoy our Annual International Piano Festival, as well as performances at the internationally known Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, which is within easy walking distance of campus.

Learn From the Best

You’ll be mentored by acclaimed professionals and performers whose talents have taken them to impressive heights in their industries. One faculty member has artwork on display in the permanent collection of the South Carolina State Museum of Art. Another has performed with musicians Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole and Jon Secada. Yet another was chosen by Mikhail Baryshnikov to join The American Ballet Theatre, with which she performed for eight years. And don't forget, a Grammy-Award winning Metropolitan Opera leading lady (retired).

Your Facilities

You’ll learn in the elegant Vera Lea Rinker Hall, featuring the 160-seat Helen K. Persson Recital Hall with acoustics that rival the best Italian opera houses. The facility also houses the Instrumental Rehearsal Hall, which is large enough for full symphony orchestra and symphonic band rehearsals, and the Percussion Studio. You’ll have access to a smaller ensemble rehearsal room, a computer/piano lab with 13 workstations, three composition labs, 15 soundproof practice rooms with “smart music” hookups and the most advanced software and technology.
