How To Become A Presenter
We are looking for presenters to participate in our our 13th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival!
Palm Beach Atlantic University is pleased to announce its 13th annual Hispanic Heritage
Festival on September 23rd - 25, 2022 to be held at the College of the Arts on the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University
in West Palm Beach, FL.
The festival will have a conference format to include papers, poster presentations,
lecture-recitals, and performances, all relating to the subject of concert music written
by composers of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. It will feature concerts
of new and historic music, including music influenced by Latin idioms written by non-Latin
composers.
We welcome proposals involving all facets of classical musical life in Latin America,
the Iberian Peninsula and the United States (Hispanic-American composers).
A. Individual Papers
Paper sessions (assembled by the Program Committee after the selection of abstracts)
may contain from two to four presentations. Each presentation lasts twenty-five minutes,
followed by five minutes of discussion.
B. Lecture – Recitals
Proposals for lecture-recitals of classical Hispanic music are welcome. These recitals
may be no longer than thirty mintues followed by 5 mintues of discussion time and
should offer an appropriate balance of lecture and performance elements. Various constraints
limit the number of lecture-recitals that may be programmed each year. Applicants
should specify the length of their abstracts. Applicants must also include in the
body of their proposal a link to an online audio file that is representative of the
proposed recital content, as well as a list of any special requirements (e.g. piano,
music stand, space for dance demonstration, choral risers).
C. Research Poster Sessions
The poster format provides an opportunity for participants to meet informally and
discuss their research.
D. Performances
Proposal for performances during the day time. Selections must total a maximum of
20 minutes. All performers will need to be registered in the conference.
