Named for former U.S. Senator George LeMieux, the LeMieux Center for Public Policy provides opportunities and connections that launch powerful careers for PBA graduates every year. You’ll learn directly from esteemed policy experts and global thought leaders from a broad spectrum of disciplines. This experience will offer you a higher level of preparation for a future in areas such as public policy, law, business and servant leadership.
The Freidheim Fellows Program for the The LeMieux Center for Public Policy offers two undergraduate students each year the chance to set themselves apart. As a Freidheim Fellows, you’ll work directly with Senator LeMieux on choosing, researching and publishing a paper on a topic of public importance. The Fellowship includes a stipend of up to $2,500 to cover the expenses, such as travel, incurred during the course.
Each year the LeMieux Center hosts a lecture series that provide forums for PBA students to interact with leading experts and thinkers. Recent speakers include former British Prime Minister Tony Blair; Admiral James Stavridis, NATO’s 16th Supreme Allied Commander and 15th Commander of the U.S. European Command; Dr. Deborah Birx, the former White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator; former United States Ambassadors, Robin Bernstein, Nancy G. Brinker, Sharon Day, Lana Marks, Bonnie McElveen-Hunter; George Piro, Special Agent in Charge of the Miami Division of the FBI; Mike Pompeo, 70th Secretary of State and former CIA Director.
