Offered through the Catherine T. MacArthur School of Leadership, the Center for Biblical Leadership is a visionary offering for students and faculty alike. At the heart of the Center’s mission is exploring concepts, opportunities and challenges of leading business and ministry organizations from a biblical world view.
With so many challenges facing today’s society, the Center is poised to make a profound impact on students and faculty. Students taking part in the Center’s initiatives will engage in course work, hear from guest speakers and interact with renowned Christian leaders who successfully practice a biblical approach to leadership in the workplace.
The Center is led by executive leadership consultant Dr. Sam Voorhies, who taught at seminaries and universities around the world from 1990 to 2017, and held major leadership roles during 25 years with World Vision, an international Christian humanitarian aid organization.
Dr. Voorhies will oversee the development and implementation of educational programs; organize and lead an advisory board that will serve as the center’s ambassadors and promote the Center through presentations, strategic networking and involvement in community events.
“After a year-long national search, we have found in Dr. Sam Voorhies someone who is perfectly gifted to launch our Center for Biblical Leadership. Sam and his wife Emily will be a great fit with the MacArthur School of Leadership team and culture, as well the entire PBA community.” Dr. Craig Domeck, Dean of PBA’s MacArthur School of Leadership
Dr. Voorhies spent more than 25 years in leadership roles with World Vision, an international Christian humanitarian aid organization.
Dr. Voorhies led key initiatives in the development of leaders and organizational change across 100 World Vision offices in an organization with a $2.5 billion budget and staff of 40,000.
