Your Program

As a student in PBA’s Communication Department (The School of Communication and Media's largest department) you may choose from the following programs:

Your Experience

You’ll be prepared for your future through a program that emphasizes:

  • The building blocks of communication skills — from public speaking to debate to organizational communication
  • Collaboration with faculty and fellow students, who come from across the country and around the world
  • Learning in a Christ-centered environment — where your professors share the Christian worldview
  • Engaging in hands-on learning through internships and experiences with seasoned professionals
  • Enhancing your knowledge and skills through clubs and organizations

Your Faculty

You’ll learn from professors who have been recognized for outstanding teaching and have taught at universities all over the U.S. and in Europe. They serve in leadership roles in professional organizations, such as the Florida Communication Association.

Your Opportunities in Communication

The department is responsive to changes in society. Your courses will cover critical areas, such as the Internet, the importance of public relations, gender communication and criticism of the mass media. Our communication graduates work at major networks and in schools and top corporations across the nation.

Speaking of PBA

“In my communication classes, we do a lot of group activities. We get together and discuss how we have to approach a certain problem or conflict that may arise in different groups or organizations. It really prepares us for the future and what’s ahead.”

-Rebecca Briceño, Communication alum
