Once a tropical storm forms that could affect South Florida, Palm Beach Atlantic’s Crisis Management Team goes on alert to monitor weather conditions. You also should be mindful of storms that could threaten the area or your travel plans in hurricane prone areas.
If a hurricane watch is issued for Palm Beach County, the University will prepare to secure the campus from the approaching storm. This is the time for you to review your personal hurricane plans.
What to do in a Hurricane Watch:
Updates concerning changes in the University’s operations (cancellation of campus events or classes, closing of residence halls) will be communicated through a variety of official channels.
University sources – e-mail, information lines and Web site among others – are recommended as news media may not have the most current information. Also, check PBA's main social media outlets at the PBA Facebook page and the PBA Twitter account.
A recommended source of information on demand is the Emergency Information Numbers.
These recorded messages communicate the University’s current status, the time the
information was recorded and the time an information update is expected.
