Biography

Denise Breitkreuz taught physical education for 13 years on the middle school level before moving to the university level. She was privileged to teach 10 of those years at a health and wellness magnet school, Driftwood Middle School. In addition to being certified in physical education, she is certified in health education and industrial arts.

Breitkreuz also is a certified Polar Electro, Inc. trainer and has been involved in numerous training programs for Polar. While teaching at Driftwood Middle School in the physical education program, the school received several awards: the FAHPERD EZ-Fit Technology Award and the Model Middle School Physical Education Program Award for the State of Florida. Breitkreuz received several individual awards: Middle School Physical Educator of the Year by Broward County Schools and Driftwood Middle School Teacher of the Year. She has presented at state, regional and national conferences on topics related to physical education.
