Free Concert Aims to Send Children’s Imaginations into Orbit

“Up and Away,” a children’s concert featuring the Palm Beach Atlantic University Symphony, Palm Beach Atlantic University Dance Ensemble and students in the University’s Preparatory Department, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the DeSantis Family Chapel, 300 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach.

The concert will feature a variety of works to introduce children to the sights and sounds of the Symphony Orchestra followed by a dance performance outdoors in front of the Greene Complex for Sports and Recreation. The theme is “From World’s End to Outer Space.”

Liana Branscome and Janice Hu, winners of the recent PBA School of Music and Fine Arts Preparatory Department Concerto Competition, will perform, along with students in the Preparatory Department’s Stringendo and dance programs.
