Palm Beach Atlantic University President William M.B. Fleming, Jr. will moderate the forum “Fostering Economic Growth: Rethinking Trade Architecture” 10:30 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, April 9 during the third annual Palm Beach Strategic Forum, April 8 and 9 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach.
Along with Fleming as moderator of the forum, U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL22) will introduce speakers Thomas Sleight, president and C.E.O., U.S. Grains Council; Laura J. Lane, president, Global Public Affairs, UPS; Bill Johnson, director, Port of Miami; David Collenette, chairman, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in North America.
Presented by the International Economic Forum of the Americas, the Palm Beach Strategic Forum brings together business executives, leading policy makers, entrepreneurs, government officials and civic leaders to discuss strategies to accelerate growth in the economy and develop business opportunities. Confirmed speakers during the two-day event also include Florida Governor Rick Scott and Texas Governor Rick Perry. Palm Beach Atlantic University is the education sponsor.
This year, there will also be a workshop for educators, co-hosted by The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County, “Financial Literacy: Planning for the Future,” from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Monday, April 8. Speakers include Dr. Eldar Sharif, William Stewart Tod Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs, Princeton, and member, President Barack Obama’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability; Darlene Kostrub, C.E.O., Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County; Nan J. Morrison, president and C.E.O., Council for Economic Education; and Gary Rabbior, president, Canadian Foundation for Economic Education.
