Record Class to Graduate During Spring Commencement

More than 500 students, one the largest graduating classes ever, will receive degrees during Palm Beach Atlantic University’s spring commencement at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The event is open to graduates and guests who hold tickets.

PBA's spring commencement will take place on Saturday, May 5. Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) is a private, accredited, Christ-centered college located in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA.Candidates for associate, bachelor’s, master’s and professional degrees from both the West Palm Beach and Orlando campuses will participate in the ceremony.

A total of 52 students will graduate from the Orlando campus, more than twice the number of graduates in any previous class. The Orlando campus was established in 2001 and offers bachelor’s degrees in ministry, psychology and organizational management and master’s degrees in leadership and counseling psychology.

The School of Nursing on PBA’s main campus will award 51 degrees, the largest class in recent history. Palm Beach Atlantic offers one of the top nursing programs in Florida and the only nationally accredited Christian nursing program in the state.

One of those nursing graduates, Gabriel Monfiston of Miami, is scheduled to receive his commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after graduation. Also receiving a commission this spring is PBA ROTC cadet and communication major Trisha Storck of Lake Worth.

Senior Alexandria Wensinger of Melbourne, Fla., will be the first student to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations from the School of Communication and Media. The school also offers majors in cinema-television, communication, journalism and theatre.

Also this spring, June Casey of West Palm Beach will become the oldest student to graduate from PBA at age 75. Casey, who serves as a mental health counselor at the Royal Palm Beach campus of Christ Fellowship Church, will receive a Master of Science degree in counseling psychology.
