It is our goal as preceptors to nurture residents in their knowledge, skills, commitment and insight. Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBAU) PGY1 pharmacy residency prepares pharmacists as servant leaders within the profession. Pharmacist clinicians are prepared for direct patient care positions, particularly ambulatory care, academia, and PGY2 training in a focused area of practice.
Instructional Design and Organization
The PBA post-graduate year one pharmacy residency is divided into eight core training themes. Diverse activities have been designed within each core training theme to ensure maximal learning opportunities.
Eight Core Training Themes (CTT's):
All rotations are four-week blocks with the exception of Ambulatory Care which is five-week blocks. A primary preceptor will supervise the resident's day-to-day activities, however the resident will interact with other preceptors throughout longitudinal activities (drug information, institutional practice), and electives.
The residency program is fully accredited by the Accreditation division of the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists.
