PBA Early Music Ensemble presents a 400 year anniversary performance of Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers featuring period-instrument orchestra, chorus and vocal soloists. Directed by Michael O'Connor.
The Early Music Ensemble will present highlights from Claudio Monteverdi's Vespers for the Blessed Virgin, composed in 1610. The ensemble celebrates the 400th anniversary of the composition of this masterpiece of the dawn of the Baroque Era with full period-instrument orchestra, chorus and vocal soloists.

The concert will feature a new work by Jinyoung Lee in collaboration with internationally recognized textile artist Nick Cave and Grammy nominee Composer Michael Moses Tirsch to showcase Cave's exhibit of "Soundsuits," mixed-media costumes named for sounds they make when worn in performance. The Norton Museum of Art have partnered with PBA dancers and choreographers to present this performance of art in motion.
The concert also will feature renowned guest choreographer Randall Flinn, artistic director of Ad Deum Dance Company; Tracy Mozingo, director of Explore Dance Theater; Jacquie Lopez, jazz dancer/choreographer; and Chiara Casiraghi, young choreographer and PBA alumna. Directed by Kathleen Klein.
