Natural Science, Mathematics & Computer Science
You want a high-quality education, one that not only prepares you for your future, but also provides you with a Christian perspective. You’ll find that through the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science department at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Biology students Maira Gaffar and Chelsea Bugg share their experience of participating in breast cancer research.
At PBA, you may choose from the following programs: Associate of Arts
PBA is one of the few schools in the country to offer medicinal and biological chemistry majors at the bachelor’s degree level and one of few Christian institutions to offer a biology concentration in marine biology and oceanography minor. Also, one of North America's great coral reefs is a short boat ride from Palm Beach Atlantic.
At PBA you will:
Your faculty members have many distinctions. They’re well-known scholars, highly published authors and Christians who will share the Christian worldview in their classrooms. All of our professors — no matter the discipline — have distinguished themselves in their fields. One biology professor even has a fish parasite named in his honor and was on a segment of the Animal Planet series River Monsters.
When it comes to location, there’s no better place to study the natural sciences. You’ll benefit from our close proximity to Lake Worth Lagoon, the Atlantic Ocean, the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. Each provides you with easy access to intriguing natural habitats for your study. Studying mathematics or computer science? You’ll benefit from studying in one of the top economic regions in the country — home to Fortune 500 companies and exceptional nonprofit organizations where you can intern, work while at PBA or pursue a rewarding career after graduation. On another note: We used HP Tablet PCS through our “Classroom Tools for Mathematics” project to redesign our calculus courses to help you express concepts and problems from graphical, tabular, symbolic and verbal
