The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Board of Directors will extend its accreditation of the Doctor of Pharmacy program of Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy through June 30, 2017.

Eight Palm Beach Atlantic University seniors chosen to speak in chapel over the course of four days during Senior Week. The speakers were chosen from a pool of students nominated by deans, faculty and staff members. Those asked to speak were Nathan Chau, Daniel Martin, Sunshine Peterson, Matthew Langford, Bobbie Thornton, Haley Locke, Phillip Major and Connor Dealy.

William M.B. Fleming Jr. was formally installed Sunday (10/21/12) as the eighth president of Palm Beach Atlantic University in a ceremony that focused on PBA’s future and the spiritual nature of University’s mission.

Thirty information and screen booths offered health screening and counseling on medical conditions. More than 100 pharmacy students staffed the booths under the supervision of faculty and alumni, who are licensed pharmacists. Visitors got counseling on how best to take their medications and they could safely dispose of leftover or expired prescriptions. Blood pressure checks were available and event sponsors CVS and Walgreens offered flu shots for a fee at their booths. Though an early morning rain dampened the tables but not their spirits, organizers said that they expected to serve 200 hundred guests.

The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Palm Beach Atlantic University has announced the recipients of the 2012-2013 Quality Initiative Faculty and Student Research Grants. The grantees' work begins immediately and continues through June 30, 2013.

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Gregory School of Pharmacy will present "Prescription for Health!" a free event to assist and educate the community from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Cultural Plaza near the city hall annex in downtown Lake Worth.

For the second year, Palm Beach Atlantic University Gregory School of Pharmacy volunteers spent a week during the summer serving residents in cities along Lake Okeechobee.
