The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Palm Beach Atlantic University has announced the recipients of the University's 2014-2015 Quality Initiative (QI) Faculty and Student Research Grants. The grant cycle runs from July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015.

Palm Beach Atlantic University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Joseph Kloba recently announced seven faculty promotions. Those promoted include Dr. Linda Ellington, Dr. Diane Esposito, Dr. Patrick Heyman, Dr. Melvin Holder, Dr. Sam Joeckel, Dr. Ann Langlois and Dr. Lee Prescott.

Palm Beach Atlantic University President William M. B. Fleming, Jr. announced today the retirement of the University’s Provost and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Joseph A. Kloba. Joining the University in 1995 to lead the graduate counseling program, Dr. Kloba was promoted to associate provost in 1998 and has served as provost for nearly 11 years. President Fleming announced the appointment of Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr. as Palm Beach Atlantic’s new provost and chief academic officer effective June 1. Dr. Fant has served as executive vice president for academic administration and dean of the faculty at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. He co-led the development of the Union 2015 Strategic Plan. Prior to his current role, Dr. Fant served as vice president of academic administration and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and previously chaired the 10-member English department at Union.

Florida State Senator Joe Negron (R-Stuart) is the featured speaker at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Spring Commencement at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

Nine students were honored Tuesday as the outstanding graduates of their schools and several others received departmental awards and scholarships as part of Palm Beach Atlantic University's Honors Day ceremony. The outstanding graduates each receive special recognition during spring commencement on May 10.

Longtime Palm Beach Atlantic University Professor of Psychology and four-time Fulbright scholar Dr. Billy Ray Lewter passed away on Saturday, April 19, after a long illness.

Palm Beach cardiologist and Palm Beach Atlantic University Founding Chairman Dr. Donald Warren will be remembered as a man who not only cared for the physical hearts of men and women but as a Christ follower who "understood the spiritual heart of a human being," his former pastor, Dr. Jack Graham, said during a memorial service attended by hundreds of mourners on Monday.
Founding Chairman Recalled as One with 'Great Heart for God'

Dr. Donald Warren died today (March 31, 2014) at Hospice of Palm Beach County’s Charles W. Gerstenberg Center in West Palm Beach. He was 86. As its founding chairman, Dr. Warren was the University’s first fundraiser-in-chief and remained its No. 1 cheerleader throughout his life. The service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Family Church Downtown at First Baptist (formerly First Baptist Church West Palm Beach) with Dr. Jack Graham officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. The family has requested that memorial gifts be sent to the Bebe Warren Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made out to Palm Beach Atlantic University with Bebe Warren Scholarship Fund in the subject line and mailed to the Development Office, Palm Beach Atlantic University, P.O. Dr. Donald Warren, Founding PBA Chairman, Dies at 86

Jimmy Collins, former president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A, will speak at an event hosted by the Catherine T. MacArthur School of Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University and the PBA Alumni Association at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the DeSantis Family Chapel, 300 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach. Collins will speak on "Creative Followership." The presentation is free and open to the public. The lecture is part of the MacArthur Leadership Speaker Series.
