Palm Beach Atlantic University is open and operating normally Thursday, June 6. Evening classes in West Palm Beach, Wellington and Orlando are meeting as scheduled. Provost Dr. Joseph A. Kloba said that there will be consideration for students who are absent due to unsafe conditions in their neighborhoods caused by weather conditions today.

Dr. Philip Jenkins, who is the Edwin Erle Sparks Professor of History and Religious Studies at Pennsylvania State University, spent Monday and Tuesday on the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University sharing his insights on global Christianity as the invited speaker for the annual President's Distinguished Scholar Lecture. He spoke in two campus chapel services and spent time with students in the classroom. He also delivered an evening lecture open to the public.

At the Florida Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Dance and Sport conference held recently in Orlando, Palm Beach Atlantic University student Elizabeth Fugate was elected the student representative to the organization's board for the next two years. Jennifer Michael, an adjunct professor in the University's physical education department, also will serve on the board.
