Brianna Parker, the spring 2014 Outstanding Graduate of the School of Nursing at Palm Beach Atlantic University, recently was recognized at the Thank a Nurse Celebration hosted by the Palm Healthcare Foundation.
Palm Healthcare Foundation Honors Nursing Graduate

Andrew Masselink, the son and grandson of pharmacists, has been named the 2014 recipient of the Gregory Outstanding Graduate Award at Palm Beach Atlantic University. The award is the most prestigious honor presented by the Gregory School of Pharmacy.

Gregory Award Recipient Upholds Family Tradition in Pharmacy

Last fall, as the national debate about the Common Core state standards for public schools sparked a fervent dialogue locally, Palm Beach Atlantic University senior Peter Copan found himself wanting to know more. The recent Palm Beach Atlantic University graduate studied the Common Core during his research fellowship, one of the first fellowships to be awarded by the LeMieux Center for Public Policy at PBA.

Students Melissa Barciela of Miami and Nathaniel Flores of Titusville have been named the 2014 recipients of the Servant Leadership Award from Palm Beach Atlantic University. The Servant Leadership Award recognizes students who are leaders in the areas of ministry and community service. Awards are provided through a generous donation from Sam and Betsy Reeves of North Palm Beach.

Students Recognized for Servant Leadership On, Off Campus

"Fashion Sense and Sensibili-Tea" was the theme of the Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association's 2014 Afternoon Tea and Silent Auction, held May 3 at The Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens. The tea raised $21,500 for scholarships, setting a new fund-raising record for the event.

Palm Beach Atlantic University junior Collena Whitbeck raised money for a global summer project in Malta by asking friends to make pledges based on how much weight she lost. A nearby gym, Crossfit CityPlace, agreed to match the donations.

Five Nursing Graduates Named Lassiter Award Recipients

State Sen. Joe Negron (R-Stuart) was true to his word when he promised to keep his remarks brief on Saturday during Palm Beach Atlantic University's spring commencement. Yet though his remarks were brief, Sen. Negron packed a lot of wisdom in three succinct points. Held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, the afternoon ceremony included a tribute to one of PBA's founding fathers and a posthumous degree presentation to a father of four who met with an untimely death in March.

As part of a $5,000 Lighthouse Project grant from BB&T, 15 bank employees and their family members, along with Palm Beach Atlantic University students and employees, recently spent a Saturday morning restoring a playground in the Rosemary Village community of West Palm Beach.
