Dr. Philip and Jennifer (Jolly) Rothschild are the speakers for Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Founders Day Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, in the Greene Complex for Sports and Recreation, 1100 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach. The event is free. Founders Day is sponsored by the Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association as the annual event commemorating the University’s establishment in 1968. Dr. Philip and Jennifer (Jolly) Rothschild graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1985 and 1986, respectively. They married in 1986 and remained at Palm Beach Atlantic, where Dr. Rothschild served as director of Student Life, and Jennifer Rothschild began her music career leading worship for Campus Ministries. During Dr. Rothschild’s time at PBA, he created the Impact Leadership Program as part of his master’s thesis at Florida Atlantic University, and later continued his education at Florida State University, where he earned his Ph.D. in 1996. Since marrying in 1986, Dr. Rothschild has also served as his wife’s personal manager, helping to guide her career as a worship leader, recording artist, and now author and popular speaker.
Dr. Rothschild is director of the Entertainment Management Program at Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. He is founder and publisher of EntertainmentManagementOnline.com, and is advisor to the Entertainment Management Association. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of leadership, social media use in entertainment venues, content marketing, event management and stakeholder management. He has experience as a personal manager in the publishing industry, and provides advice to non-profit theatres, online publications, event management companies, and authors and speakers. His professional memberships include the International Association of Venue Managers and the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association.
Jennifer Rothschild has been cleaning out her thought closet, and reconciling the missing pieces in her blanket of faith ever since her life drastically changed at the age of 15, when she lost her sight. Now, more than 30 years later, she boldly and compassionately teaches women how to walk by faith, and not by sight.
As a speaker, author and accomplished singer-songwriter she travels internationally, offering fresh, sensible, Biblical advice to audiences who, like her, are determined to pursue healthy and fulfilling lives in spite of their circumstances. She has shared her practical and inspiring messages to arena-sized audiences across the country, and media outlets including Dr. Phil, Good Morning America, Life Today, The Learning Channel and The Billy Graham Television Special.
She’s the author of eight books, including the best-selling Lessons I Learned in the Dark, Self Talk, Soul Talk, Walking by Faith Bible study, the popular Me, Myself and Lies Bible study, and her recently released Bible study, Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense.
Rothschild is also the featured teacher and founder of Fresh Grounded Faith Conferences, and publisher of the popular online magazine for women in ministry called womensministry.net.
She and her husband live in Springfield and have two sons, Connor, 14, and Clayton 24, and a new daughter-in-law, Caroline.
