The Alumni Association of Palm Beach Atlantic University has set its annual golf tournament and auction for Saturday, Oct. 6, at the PGA National Resort & Spa. In honor of the event’s 25th year, a tennis tournament also will take place that day at PGA National Resort & Spa Health & Racquet Club.
The tournaments, which are open to the public, will raise money for the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
The golf tournament begins at 7 a.m. with breakfast followed by a helicopter ball drop at 8:15 a.m. A shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. begins the tournament where golfers will compete on the Champion course. In addition to an enjoyable round of golf, participants will compete for prizes for the closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, Beat the Pro and more. Arrigo Dodge • Chrysler • Jeep of Palm Beach provides par 3 hole-in-one prizes.
After golf, players will enjoy lunch and an exciting auction, featuring an array of sports memorabilia and weekend resort packages. The cost for the tournament is $275 per player, which includes cart, greens fee, breakfast, lunch and a tournament golf shirt.
Registration and breakfast for the tennis tournament begin at 7 a.m., and the tournament gets under way at 9 a.m. The cost is $100 per player and includes a mixed-up tennis tournament, tennis shirt, breakfast and lunch. The awards luncheon will be held at 1 p.m.
Proceeds from the tournament help deserving PBA students pay for their college education. The Alumni Association recently awarded 34 annual scholarships, which are renewable by undergraduates who remain in good standing at the University.
