Jonatan Barahona, a 2009 graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University’s School of Music and Fine Arts, was recognized recently for his work with gospel recording artist Ingrid Rosario, whose album was nominated for a 2011 Latin Grammy.
Rosario’s album Cuan Gran Amor was nominated in the category “Best Christian Album (Spanish Language).” Barahona worked on the vocal arrangements as well as sang on the album. The 12th annual Latin Grammy awards were presented in Las Vegas on Nov. 1.
Barahona majored in popular music and minored in biblical studies at PBA. The Boynton Beach resident has toured internationally with Rosario.
This summer, Barahona won a new 2012 Honda Civic for winning the Sounds of Civic songwriting competition. The competition gave Facebook users a chance to submit and vote on original songs inspired by one of the five 2012 Honda Civic models; the Sedan, Coupe, Si, HF or Hybrid.
As part of his prize, he performed his winning song, Forever, during the Honda Civic Tour, which kicked off Oct. 1 in Anaheim, Calif.
