The endowed scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of the daughter of Dr. Kathleen Barsalou and her late husband Richard. Meredith Barsalou was a 2003 college graduate who passed away unexpectedly in 2004.

Dr. Barsalou is a 1998 graduate of PBA who now is an adjunct professor at the University.

Applicants are required to be full-time students in good standing who demonstrate financial need. Students also must complete an essay describing their personal and academic goals. A selection committee reviews all applications.

This year’s recipients are:

Brent Schweizer of Venice, Fla., a junior majoring in graphic arts with a minor in communications.

Lea Miller of West Palm Beach, a senior majoring in Christian social ministry and minoring in cross-cultural studies.
