Net Price Calculator Helps Plan for College Expenses

April 7, 2011

Determining how to pay for college just got easier with Palm Beach Atlantic’s new Net Price Calculator, which is available on the University’s website through a partnership with The College Board.

"We were looking for a tool that would incorporate our institutional awarding model into the Net Price Calculator," said Todd Martin, Palm Beach Atlantic’s director of Financial Aid. "Although we expected it to take several weeks to build our model it only took several days. We were very pleased with the support received from the College Board throughout the process. We believe our students will have a good experience with this product."

Net Price CalculatorThe purpose of the Net Price Calculator is to help incoming freshmen make informed decisions about college by considering the options and opportunities available for financial aid. Students will learn whether they qualify for federal and state grants as well as institutional aid provided by Palm Beach Atlantic. The questionnaire takes between 10 and 20 minutes to complete and the results are reliable based on the data that is entered.

Prospective students may use the tool multiple times to create "what if" scenarios and the calculator reflects costs associated with college attendance including books, transportation and personal expenses.
