Alumni Association Sets Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament

The Alumni Association of Palm Beach Atlantic University has set its 24th annual golf tournament and auction for Saturday, Oct. 1, at the PGA National Resort & Spa. The tournament, which is open to the public, raises money for the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. This year’s tournament will be hosted by baseball Hall of Famer and PBA baseball coach Gary Carter and includes a helicopter ball drop.
Board of Trustees Seats a Presidential Search Committee

Robert W. Simpson, Jr., chairman of Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Board of Trustees, today announced appointments to form a Presidential Search Committee to select the University’s eighth president. Trustee Gary Schroeder, a retired executive with Coca-Cola Enterprises, will chair the Presidential Search Committee. The committee will be aided in their work by an executive search consulting firm, which will be named later, Simpson said. Dance as worship? Dance as a way to deliver the Good News? Dance, movement, choreography as a means for expressing one’s faith? Yes, dance can be all of that, says Randall Flinn, founder and artistic director of Ad Deum, a Houston-based dance and instructional troupe, which conducted a “dance intensive” this week at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Ad Deum, meaning “unto God,” is a professional contemporary/modern dance company, which since its inception in 2000, incorporates Christian belief with dramatic, artistic expression. Tonight at 7:30, Ad Deum instructors will stage a 90-minute performance in PBA’s DeSantis Family Chapel. The event is open to the public, and is free (love offerings are welcome).
