Adult student Natalie Alvarez overcame job displacement and a cancer diagnosis to be named the Outstanding Graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University's MacArthur School of Leadership for the fall semester. She will be recognized during the commencement ceremony on Saturday.

Dr. Kenneth Mahanes, special advisor to the president of Palm Beach Atlantic University, will be the featured speaker at Palm Beach Atlantic's fall commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Math is beautiful, at least the way dancer Jennifer Kirby interprets it. A graduating senior who is majoring in dance and minoring in communications at of Palm Beach Atlantic University, Kirby recently performed a solo dance on the stage of PBA’s Vera Lea Rinker Hall to illustrate the Fibonacci Sequence, a numerical series in which the next number is found by adding the two numbers preceding it.

The University family has lost a long-time member and supporter with the death December 4 of Trustee Emeritus Judge Thomas E. Lee, Jr. '93 of Tequesta, Fla. He was 89. Interim President William M. B. Fleming, Jr. remembered Judge Lee as a “great American patriot, war hero, legal advocate, trustee and PBA alumnus.”
