Two students in Palm Beach Atlantic University's Rinker School of Business have been selected for an internship and scholarship opportunity through a new partnership with Northwestern Mutual.

Palm Beach Atlantic University today announced a second multi-million dollar gift from the Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker Foundation to advance construction of the University's new athletic campus located on 76 acres off Parker Avenue north of Southern Boulevard. The latest gift amounting to $2 million follows the Foundation's lead gift of $4 million made in December 2010. The project was named the Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker Athletic Campus.

The second annual Flying Pumpkins activity took place at Conniston Middle School on Friday (10/25). It was part of an ongoing collaboration between Palm Beach Atlantic University and Conniston that adopts an innovative approach to science education for middle school students.

Who's going to win $10,000? Palm Beach Atlantic University will get closer to the answer as the J.J.'s Entrepreneurs business plan competition kicks off its third year with an informational meeting at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in MacArthur Hall Room 1291.

Award-winning chemist and five-time Nobel prize nominee Dr. Henry F. Schaefer III gave his well-known talk, "The Big Bang, Stephen Hawking and God," to Palm Beach Atlantic University students on Monday.

The Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association recently awarded 35 annual scholarships, which are renewable by undergraduates who remain in good standing at the University. Events such as the Alumni Association Golf and Tennis Tournament and the Alumnae Afternoon Tea benefit this scholarship fund.

Two accomplished leaders in their fields, Paul Donahue of G4S GS and Kenneth Kennerly of The Honda Classic, will be honored with companion medals during Palm Beach Atlantic University's American Free Enterprise Day ceremony Nov. 7. American Free Enterprise Day has been an event at Palm Beach Atlantic since 1984 and honors individuals whose hard work and achievement exemplify the best of the American free enterprise system.
