City Joins University in Celebrating Role of Pharmacists

Students in the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy at Palm Beach Atlantic University are partnering with the City of West Palm Beach to celebrate American Pharmacists Month in October. West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio signed a proclamation delivered to the city in support of the awareness initiative. American Pharmacist Month recognizes the significant contributions to health care and the commitment to patient care made by pharmacists in all practice settings from around the country.
Conference Helps Churches Minister to Those with Addictions

Palm Beach Atlantic University and The Treatment Center of the Palm Beaches Road Less Traveled Christian Program will present the first Restoring Hope: Winning the Battle Over Addiction educational conference on Friday, Oct. 28, in the DeSantis Family Chapel. The conference will assist pastors, counselors and lay leaders to help members of their churches who are suffering from addiction.
University to Honor H. Wayne Huizenga Jr. With AFE Medal

On Nov. 7, Palm Beach Atlantic University will present its American Free Enterprise Medal to H. Wayne Huizenga, Jr., president of Huizenga Holdings, Inc., a diversified company that manages the Huizenga family owned private businesses and real estate. He also is chairman of the board of Rybovich, a super yacht marina and refit facility based in West Palm Beach.
Rev. Fred L. Shuttlesworth died Oct. 5 at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy of freedom fighting and spreading the gospel, which included visits to Palm Beach Atlantic University through his connection with Dr. Terriel Byrd.

The cast of the fall musical "Stop the World — I Want to Get Off" is in final rehearsals for its sold-out opening night on Thursday in Palm Beach Atlantic University's Fern Street Theatre, which opened its doors a year ago on the outskirts of CityPlace, a short distance from campus.
