Florida Campus Compact awarded a mini-grant to Palm Beach Atlantic University to host three civic dialogues on campus in October. Faculty members will moderate the student discussions, which will take place after viewings of the televised presidential and vice-presidential debates.

Palm Beach Atlantic University, in partnership with Northern Trust and Geoffrey and Joanne Stringer of North Palm Beach, presents the Distinguished Artist Series, an unparalleled concert experience featuring internationally acclaimed guest artists and University faculty performing in PBA's Helen K. Persson Recital Hall in Vera Lea Rinker Hall.

The Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association recently awarded 35 annual scholarships, which are renewable by undergraduates who remain in good standing at the University.

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Family Weekend 2012 on Oct. 11-14 will include a mom bake-off, family walk/run, laser tag, a family Nintendo Wii competition, soccer and volleyball games and performances of the Shakespeare play "As You Like It."

Palm Beach Atlantic University hosts its annual President's Distinguished Scholar Lecture in October with Dr. David Bevington, the Phyllis Fay Horton Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in the Humanities at the University of Chicago. Dr. Bevington's lecture titled "The Battle Between Compassion and Envy in 'As You Like It'" is free and open to the public Monday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the University's DeSantis Family Chapel.

Dr. Malcolm Gill, who serves on the faculty at Sydney Missionary and Bible College in Australia, shared a message about God's forgiveness with Palm Beach Atlantic University students on Wednesday. Dr. Gill is this year's Christival speaker.

Palm Beach Atlantic University projects an impact of $313,395,314 on Palm Beach County's economy this academic year, according to the University's Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. That is compared to $309,713,880 in 2011.

Two Palm Beach Atlantic University freshmen have been named the first recipients of the University's Farish Scholarship, a four-year, full-tuition scholarship awarded to those who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements and a commitment to community service.

Todd and Julie Mullins of Christ Fellowship spoke to Palm Beach Atlantic University students in chapel during Church Connect Week. Other speakers this week included Pastor Jeremy McKeen of Truth Point Church, Pastor David Nelms of Grace Fellowship, Dr. Jerry Wragg of Grace Immanuel Bible Church and Pastor Aaron Filippone of First Baptist Church.

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Office of Career Development hosted a Fall Career Fair. Many students who attended scheduled interviews and some were offered jobs. Representatives from local presidential campaign offices offered internships.
