Palm Beach Atlantic University graduate Fritz Van der Grift thrives on the fast pace and constant travel associated with his job as special assistant to Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater. The 24-year-old, who now lives in Tallahassee, recently founded Fruit of the Son, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the less fortunate in the community of Los Alcarrizos in the Dominican Republic. He first traveled there during his junior year at PBA on a trip led by his lacrosse coach, Christopher Southard.
Budgeting, credit and financial aid were the topics of discussion at the Financial Literacy Workshop on Friday at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s main campus for incoming freshman who are enrolled in Jump Start, and their parents.
Pilot Project Helps Students Learn Algebra Using Technology

Palm Beach Atlantic University has received a $10,000 grant from the AT&T Foundation, the philanthropy arm of AT&T, to implement a two-year pilot project partnering with nearby Conniston Community Middle School that aims to help students learn algebra through new instructional methods and technology.
