Palm Beach Atlantic University student-athletes will lend a helping hand during Conniston Community Middle School’s FCAT Family Night Extravaganza set for Thursday, Feb. 23, from 5-7:30 p.m. A highlight of the evening is the free dinner being served compliments of the co-founder of Outback Steakhouse — who also has created the nonprofit organization Kettle Comfort. Tim Gannon, of Water Mill, New York and Palm Beach, has created Kettle Comfort: Cooking for America, a nonprofit organization committed to using kettle equipment and technology to feed 20-30,000 people per day. His intention: to feed America. This collaboration is part of an ongoing partnership with Palm Beach Atlantic designed to enhance the academic achievement of students at the middle school. Conniston is a neighbor of PBA’s Rinker Athletic Campus, and both the middle school and the University are participants in the newly formed public-private partnership known as the Parker Avenue Consortium.
