Prior to her arrival at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Ms. Edgar worked as an editor at The Palm Beach Post. She also has several years' experience reporting and editing for newspapers and magazines in the Washington, D.C., area.

She and her husband, Tom, are members of First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach.
