Dr. Grenz has more than 20 years of ministry experience. He has served as associate pastor in youth ministry and Christian education, lead pastor, and director of a parachurch ministry. His ministry experience has spanned the Midwest, Northwest, southern California, south Florida and western Canada. Dr. Grenz has been a full-time faculty member at Sioux Falls Seminary and an adjunct professor at Taylor University, College and Seminary in Edmonton, Alberta. He has led numerous short-term mission groups and recently has enjoyed opportunities to teach pastors in the Philippines and Ukraine. Since coming to PBA, Dr. Grenz has enjoyed serving churches through consulting, leading the student ministries at his church, speaking at retreats, and preaching at local churches. In May 2010, he traveled with a PBA team to the Philippines, serving in a number of communities on the island of Mindanao. His latest publication, Synergistic Collaborations: Pastoral Care and Church Social Work (coauthored with former PBA professor Velmarie Albertini) was released in December 2010. Most recently, he has taken on the role of assistant director of PBA’s new Center for Experiential Learning. Dr. Grenz has a passion for mentoring and equipping emerging young Christian leaders for the church and the world. He and his wife, Susan, enjoy traveling, going to the beach, drinking lattes at Starbucks, watching movies and hanging out with their two children, Jesse and Phoebe.
