James “Jim” Craft has over 25 years of teaching experience at both public school and the university levels. For ten years Craft maintained his own studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina and supported his family with his art. He has successfully marketed ceramics, sculpture, and paintings to galleries, designed and produced work for the High Point, NC furniture market, and secured commissions for paintings, murals, and architectural installations. His work has been shown in many solo and invitational exhibitions and is represented in both private and public collections including the South Carolina State Museum of Art. Craft’s most recent work reflects a research of the art and architecture of important Romanesque cathedrals and abbey churches along the ancient pilgrim roads to Vézelay, Autun, Conques, Cahors, and Moissac, France and at Tewkesbury and Worcester, England. In recent years he has taken a group of PBA art students to Italy for a study abroad trip from Rome to Venice. Jim and his wife Donna have three wonderful children and four beautiful grandchildren, and worship at St. Patrick Church in Palm Beach Gardens. They also enjoy sailing, classical music, gardening, and collecting hand knotted tribal rugs.
