 Susan received her BSN from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1987 and her MSN from the University of Phoenix in 2007. Susan has faithfully worked at Palm Beach Atlantic University as program coordinator as well as testing and skills lab coordinator since January 2010. Her other responsibilities include counseling the freshman students in the pre-nursing program. Susan has forty years of experience as an RN. Prior to coming to Palm Beach Atlantic University Susan had many years of hospital nursing experience, including nurse manager of obstetrics, staff nurse in high risk obstetrics, and educator at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. She also served as director of women’s services at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach from 1995 to 1998. She created a teen pregnancy program for the Visiting Nurse Association in the Belle Glade area in the mid-90’s. Prior to that, Susan was director of women’s services at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee from 1990 until 1994. Susan began her nursing career at Good Samaritan Medical center in 1971 where she worked for 19 years beginning first as a staff nurse, then assistant nurse manager and finally as nurse manager in all areas of perinatal nursing. Susan has been a nursing educator for more than twelve years, serving as adjunct faculty at Palm Beach Community College and South University, where she taught clinical obstetrics. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Nursing Honor Society, and AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nursing). She is active in her parish and has two wonderful children and a grandson.
