Palm Beach Atlantic University's Science Camp is for campers entering 1st through 5th grade. Students will explore activities that relate to biology, chemistry, earth science and physics to different aspects of agriculture. Topics include understanding the nature of soil (nutrient content), exploring the types of biomolecules and nutrients that make up food, examining factors that affect plant growth (photosynthesis, disease), learning what conditions are required for plants to grow, exploring the role animals have in agriculture and understanding different agricultural practices.
There are two specific age groups:
Group 1: 1st-3rd graders
Group 2: 4th-5th graders
The camp includes:
Cost: $175 (Extended will be provided at additional cost (7:30-8:30 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m.; $15/child/day)
Student must provide his or her own lunch; lunch will not be provided.
Time: Camp will run Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
