University Announces Nine Faculty Promotions

Palm Beach Atlantic University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Joseph Kloba recently announced nine faculty promotions.

Dr. Stephanie Bennett of West Palm Beach has been promoted to professor of communication and media ecology. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Cedar Crest College, a master’s degree from Monmouth University and a doctorate from Regent University. She has been a member of the PBA faculty in 2005.

Dr. Christine Brooks of Royal Palm Beach has been promoted to associate professor of nursing. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University, a master’s degree from Kennesaw State University and a doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She has been a member of the PBA faculty since 2006. In 2012, she received PBA’s Corts Award for Outstanding Teaching.

Dr. Elias Chahine of West Palm Beach has been promoted to associate professor of pharmacy practice. He studied pharmacy at Universite’ Saint-Joseph in Beirut, Lebanon, and at Lebanese American University. He joined the PBA faculty in 2007.

Dr. Matthew DellaVecchia of Wellington has been promoted to associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences. He holds bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Florida. He has been a member of the PBA faculty since 2006.

Dr. Lynn Erickson of Royal Palm Beach has been promoted to associate professor of nursing. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University, and she has completed additional studies at the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University. She joined the PBA faculty in 2008.

Dr. Kathleen Klein of West Palm Beach has been promoted to professor of dance. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida Atlantic University and a doctorate from Lynn University. She has been a member of the PBA faculty since 1999.

Dr. Kathy Maxwell of West Palm Beach has been promoted to associate professor of Biblical and theological studies. Dr. Maxwell holds a bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University, a master’s degree from the Logsdon School of Theology and a doctorate from Baylor University. She joined the PBA faculty in 2009.

Dr. Michael O’Connor of Jupiter has been promoted to associate professor of music. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Technological University and master’s and doctorate degrees from Florida State University. He has been a member of the PBA faculty since 2007.

Dr. Olga Rybalkina of Royal Palm Beach has been promoted to associate professor of psychology. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Ukraine University, as well as a master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Toledo. She joined the faculty of PBA in 2005.
