Deans

Dean, School of Music & Fine Arts
Type: Full-Time 
Date Available: Fall 2018/2019

The Dean is the administrator of the academic program of the school and reports directly to the Provost.

 The Dean is responsible for providing leadership and administrative oversight for all programs of the school. The dean makes recommendations regarding the academic budgets and personnel within the school and ensures that all aspects of the school operate within institutional policies. The dean serves on the Council of Deans, the chief academic decision-making group within the university, and the Provost’s Administrative Council,  the chief policy and procedure coordinating group within the university. The dean may also teach up to 6 credit hours each academic year. 

Qualifications:

Education:  a terminal degree (or equivalency) in the discipline within the school or other related fine or performing art that is commensurate with the expectations of the position.

 Experience: significant administrative experience in an academic or nonacademic setting.


 

Gregory School of Pharmacy

Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Type: Full-Time Faculty (Two  Full-Time Faculty positions open)

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Gregory School of Pharmacy seeks a 12 month, full-time faculty member for a position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for didactic teaching in courses/topics appropriate to the candidate's expertise, with a desired emphasis on clinical pharmacokinetics and issues related to ambulatory care and/or community pharmacy practice. The candidate will additionally develop and/or maintain a successful clinical experiential practice at a local healthcare facility, contribute to operational aspects of the School of Pharmacy, and engage in research/scholarship in the associated areas of expertise. 

Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Florida. The candidate must demonstrate a Christian commitment and a willingness to integrate one's faith into teaching and mentorship. 

Assistant/Associate Professor of Social and Administrative Sciences

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Gregory School of Pharmacy seeks a 12 month, full-time faculty member for a position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for didactic teaching in courses/topics in the Social and Administrative Sciences. The candidate will contribute to operational aspects of the School of Pharmacy, and engage in research/scholarship in the associated areas of expertise. An interest in Pharmacoeconomics is strongly preferred.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency or PhD in an applicable area of health economics or outcomes. Additional experience preferred. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Florida. Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacology)

Palm Beach Atlantic University, Gregory School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12 month nontenure-track faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a PhD in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related biomedical science. A background in pharmacy is optimal but not required. This candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills with evidence of teaching courses in pharmacology and pathophysiology to students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. An appropriate research background should be evident with an expectation to contribute to ongoing research efforts in the department. Candidate must demonstrate a Christian commitment and a willingness to integrate one's faith into teaching and mentorship. This position is available immediately and application review will continue until the position is filled. 

Director, Assessment and Accreditation

Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Gregory School of Pharmacy seeks a 12-month, full-time faculty member to serve as the School’s Director of Assessment and Accreditation. The Director will provide primary leadership for maintaining and implementing a successful master assessment plan. Such will include maintaining a keen awareness of higher education assessment-related trends, articulating a vision and strategy for assessment-related activities, interpreting accreditation standards and processes, managing the human and fiscal resources associated with assessment processes, guiding the School’s selection and utilization of assessment tools and actively contributing to ongoing curricular improvement. The Director will also lead the development of faculty and staff in their understanding of, and successful engagement in, assessment-related activities, oversee the tracking and reporting of compliance with accreditation standards (ACPE and SACSCOC). The Director is supported by a full-time Coordinator, Assessment & Accreditation. The Director will teach and engage in research/scholarship in accordance with area of his/her expertise.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a Doctor of Pharmacy plus an ASHP-accredited residency and/or PhD in a pharmacy-related discipline. Experience and proficiency in higher education assessment and accreditation activities is preferred.  If the candidate holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, he/she must be eligible for licensure in Florida. The candidate must demonstrate a Christian commitment and willingness to integrate one’s faith into teaching and mentorship.

 


School of Nursing

Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program

Palm Beach Atlantic University's School of Nursing is seeking a Full Time Faculty Position in DNP, Nurse Practitioner Program. 

Qualifications: This position requires current Florida ARNP License (or eligible) with National Certification in APN Population - Family. Doctoral degree required, DNP or PhD in Nursing preferred. Minimum five years teaching experience, online teaching preferred.

Palm Beach Atlantic University's School of Nursing is seeking a Full Time Faculty Position to teach BSN nursing students in both class and clinical environments in the areas of Medical Surgical and High Acuity nursing, or Pediatric Nursing. 

Qualifications: This position requires a Master's Degree in nursing, Florida Registered Nurse, BLS/CPR, 2-3 years of full-time teaching in nursing. Must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional course work. Recommended: Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field. 


School of Arts & Sciences

Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology
Type: Full-Time Faculty

The School of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Biology faculty position at the university's main campus in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. This is a full-time faculty position to teach lower and upper division biology courses. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in human and/or animal physiology or marine biology. The teaching load is 24 contact hours annually. Faculty members are expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, be active scholars in their fields, participate in service to the university and the broader community, and demonstrate a commitment to the Christian faith. The minimum requirement is a Ph.D. in biology completed before August 2018. The Department of Biology is committed to the academic success of its students that includes advising and mentoring.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Political Economy

The School of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Political Economy. The faculty member would offer both graduate and undergraduate political economy classes focusing primarily on development economics, international economics, development policy, and international relations. Most teaching responsibilities are for the graduate Global Development program, which offers students the opportunity to study global development in an applied and academically diverse setting. Of particular interest are candidates who can demonstrate cross-disciplinary work and the application of those studies to the likely career paths of our graduate students. Foreign development experience highly desirable. A record of work in development studies or sustainability studies is preferred, though experience in other related fields will be considered. A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is required. 

Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry

The School of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Chemistry. 

Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred. M.S. required. The Department of Chemistry, Forensic Science, Oceanography, and Physics seeks a chemist who can teach chemistry courses for underprepared students, pre-nursing students, as well as coursework in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and courses appropriate to the candidate's background. Excellent teaching is required. Limited research with undergraduate students is expected. Applicants, who are qualified to teach physics or forensic science courses, would be given special consideration. Must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework. 

 


School of Music & Fine Arts 

Assistant/Associate Professor of Art

The successful candidate will teach ceramics, painting, drawing, and other studio art courses to interest and expertise. 

Qualifications: M.F.A. in Art; Special consideration given to candidates with previous secondary teaching experience in order to oversee art education. The successful candidate will teach ceramics, painting, drawing, and other studio art courses according to interest and expertise. Must have a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith with traditional coursework. 

Assistant/Associate Professor of Piano
Type: Full-Time Faculty
Date Available: Fall 2018

The successful candidate will teach piano, accompanying, piano literature, and piano pedagogy, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Additional teaching opportunities depend on the department’s needs and the candidate’s abilities.

Qualifications: D.M.A. in piano.  Evidence of excellence in piano and collaborative performance, studio teaching, pedagogy, and classroom and group piano instruction.  The candidate is expected to maintain prominence as an active performer.   The successful candidate must demonstrate a vibrant Christian commitment and the ability to integrate the Christian faith with traditional coursework.  With the application materials requested, one of the three professional references needs to speak specifically about the candidate’s spiritual vitality; included must also be a brief essay describing the candidate’s spiritual journey (concluding with information about the current (present year) involvement in the life of a local congregation/parish).


Rinker School of Business

Assistant/Associate Professor of Management

The Assistant or Associate Professor teaches classes in his/her discipline, advises students, conducts scholarly activity, and serves on committees. 

Qualifications: Required to hold a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in a business related field, and 18 graduate credit hours in Management or a closely related business discipline. A person who has completed all but a dissertation for an earned doctorate will also considered to be qualified. Preference will be given to candidates whose terminal degree was earned at an AACSB accredited business school. 


School of Education & Behavioral Studies

Assistant/Associate Professor of Education

The Assistant or Associate Professor of Education will be responsible for teaching math, reading and/or education courses in the undergraduate Education program at the West Palm Beach (WPB) campus. The Faculty member will work with the director and other Faculty member to fulfill the mission statement of the Program. 

Qualifications: Required to have an earned Doctorate with an emphasis in Elementary Education, appropriate teaching experience, and a teaching certificate.
