Deans

Dean, School of Education & Behavioral Studies
Type: Full-Time 
Date Available: Fall 2018

The Dean is the administrator of the academic program of the school and reports directly to the Provost.

 The Dean is responsible for providing leadership and administrative oversight for all programs of the school. The dean makes recommendations regarding the academic budgets and personnel within the school and ensures that all aspects of the school operate within institutional policies. The dean serves on the Council of Deans, the chief academic decision-making group within the university, and the Provost’s Administrative Council,  the chief policy and procedure coordinating group within the university. The dean may also teach up to 6 credit hours each academic year. 

Qualifications:

Education:  An earned doctorate in a discipline within the school 

 Experience: significant teaching experience and research capability. 

Dean, School of Music & Fine Arts
Type: Full-Time 
Date Available: Fall 2018/2019

The Dean is the administrator of the academic program of the school and reports directly to the Provost.

 The Dean is responsible for providing leadership and administrative oversight for all programs of the school. Gregory School of Pharmacy

Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Type: Full-Time Faculty

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Gregory School of Pharmacy seeks a 12 month, full-time faculty member for a position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for didactic teaching in courses/topics appropriate to the candidate's expertise, with a desired emphasis on clinical pharmacokinetics and issues related to ambulatory care and/or community pharmacy practice. The candidate will additionally develop and/or maintain a successful clinical experiential practice at a local healthcare facility, contribute to operational aspects of the School of Pharmacy, and engage in research/scholarship in the associated areas of expertise. 

Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Florida. The candidate must demonstrate a Christian commitment and a willingness to integrate one's faith into teaching and mentorship. 

Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics)

Palm Beach Atlantic University, Gregory School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12 month nontenure-track faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a PhD in either pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related biomedical science. A background in pharmacy is optimal but not required. An appropriate research background should be evident with an expectation to contribute to ongoing research efforts in the department. This candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills with evidence of teaching courses in pharmaceutics and/or pharmacokinetics to students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Candidate must demonstrate a Christian commitment and a willingness to integrate one's faith into teaching and mentorship. 

Faculty members are afforded a unique opportunity to teach in a supportive Christian environment that promotes spiritual growth as a means to personal and professional growth. This position is available immediately, but the start date is negotiable. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Assistant Director, Experiential Programs

The Assistant Director, Experiential serves as the first-line of professional/pharmacist staff support to the Sr. Director of Experiential & Interprofessional Programs within the School of Pharmacy, assisting his/her in all aspects of the development, implementation and evaluation of the introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experience. 

Qualifications: A Doctor of Pharmacy degree or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree with commensurate experience is required.  

GCMM Coordinator 
Type: Full-Time

The Coordinator provides primary administrative and office-based support to the Director, Gregory Center for Medical Missions (GCMM) and the office of the Associate Dean for Academics. The Coordinator will serve as a primary liaison between the GCMM and both internal and external partners of the Center - Coordinating communication, marketing, finances, development and related initiatives. The coordinator will also hold primary responsibility for managing the logistics of Gregory School mission teams. Support for the office of the Associate Dean for Academics will be composed, primarily, student records management and communication and oversight of events associated with the office of the Associate Dean. 

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, with office or administrative experience. Other educational training or experience may be considered. 


School of Nursing

Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program

School of Arts & Sciences

Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology

The School of Arts & Sciences is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Biology faculty position at the university's main campus in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. This is a full-time faculty position to teach lower and upper division biology courses. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in human and/or animal physiology or marine biology. The teaching load is 24 contact hours annually. Faculty members are expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, be active scholars in their fields, participate in service to the university and the broader community, and demonstrate a commitment to the Christian faith. The minimum requirement is a Ph.D. in biology completed before August 2018. The Department of Biology is committed to the academic success of its students that includes advising and mentoring.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Ministry Leadership Studies

Palm Beach Atlantic University's School of Ministry is seeking a Full Time Faculty Position in Ministry leadership studies. 

Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D in Practical Theology, Ministry, Christian Education, or related disciplines.  Minimum of 5 years of church-based ministry experience is required.  Experience in variety of church settings and context is preferred.  Experience working with individuals and groups from diverse (multicultural) backgrounds is essential.  Background in student ministry is a plus, but not essential.  Teaching experience at an undergraduate or graduate level is preferred. Must have a Christian commitment along with the ability to intentionally integrate Christian faith in coursework.

Qualifications: This position requires a Ph.D in Theology or Church history. Ability to teach systematic theology and historical theology is required. Experience teaching graduate courses in historical theology is desired. Experience in church ministry is strongly desired. Must have a Christian commitment along with the ability to intentionally integrate Christian faith in coursework. 

 


Orlando Campus

Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling/School Counseling

The AA Professor of Psychology and Counseling is responsible for teaching courses in the undergraduate psychology and graduate counseling programs, with an emphasis in the school counseling track. In addition, the Assistant/Associate Professsor of Psychology and Counseling will be responsible for advising students in the psychology and counselor education programs at the Orlando Campus, and will serve on the faculty committees as determined by the dean. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology and Counseling will report to the Dean of the School of Education & Behavioral Studies. 

Qualifications: Education: An earned Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D. from a CACREP accredited counselor education program. Experience: appropriate teaching experience with research capability. Registered play therapist (RPT) Certification desirable, but not required. 

 


School of Music & Fine Arts

Qualifications: M.F.A. in Art; Special consideration given to candidates with previous secondary teaching experience in order to oversee art education. Qualifications: Required to hold a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in a business related field, and 18 graduate credit hours in Finance or a closely related business discipline. A person who has completed all but a dissertation for an earned doctorate will also considered to be qualified.

A person who has completed all but a dissertation for an earned doctorate will also considered to be qualified. Preference will be given to candidates whose terminal degree was earned at an AACSB accredited business school.
