Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology

The successful candidate will teach introductory concepts in pharmacology and participation in a team-taught, multidisciplinary pharmacotherapy sequence. This is a 12-month non-tenure-track position. Director of Experiential Programs – Community and Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

This position requires a PharmD degree, eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida, and completion of a community or ambulatory care residency or commensurate experience. The successful candidate will coordinate all aspects of experiential training, both introductory and advanced, based in community practice. This responsibility includes development, maintenance and quality assurance of training sites. The Director will also serve a key role in preceptor training and didactic teaching as it relates to experiential education through the professional development sequence associated with introductory practice experience. Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

This position requires a Pharm degree, eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida, and completion of a pharmacy residency. The successful candidate will maintain a clinical practice in a local healthcare facility and precept 16-18 4th year students per year in a 4-week advanced practice experience rotation (1-2 students per rotation). This position involves a roughly 50-50 split between the clinical practice site and on-campus responsibilities. Didactic teaching expectations include participation in a team-taught, multidisciplinary pharmacotherapy sequence and a case-studies, problem-based learning course.

Ideal candidates preferably possess an earned PhD or Ed.D. from a regionally accredited institution in education. A qualified candidate will have ESOL endorsement with at least five years of successful K-12 teaching experience.  An advanced degree in Exceptional Student Education, as well as experience in providing clinical supervision to pre-service student teachers, is preferred but not required. Experience in providing clinical supervision to counseling students is preferred but not required. The position requires teaching graduate students in mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling, school counseling and/ or addictions counseling classes. Director of Graduate Counseling Program/ Counselor Educator

The School of Education and Behavioral Studies at Palm Beach Atlantic University is seeking an energetic and creative program director who will provide forward-thinking leadership to an established graduate counseling program.
Consistent with the program theme, Clinically Professional, Distinctively Christian, the University seeks a proven leader who has demonstrated success as an educator and practitioner in providing counseling services from a Christ-centered perspective. The primary goal of the director will be to lead the program and two campuses-West Palm Beach and Orlando- successfully through the CACREP accreditation process.
Required Qualifications

  • The candidate should possess a record of effective teaching, supervision, and professional activity
  • An earned doctorate, from a CACREP- accredited university,
  • Be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Florida, and
  • Be familiar with CACREP accreditation standards and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a CACREP approved counseling program.

The prospective director will provide leadership and administration through budgeting, curriculum, personnel, and resource allocation, and will be the supervisor of the faculty. The director position will be a twelve-month administrative position with responsibilities for teaching one-class per semester. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
As with all faculty members at Palm Beach Atlantic University, this director/faculty member must have a personal commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to integrate Christian faith with counseling.

 


(Anticipated) Assistant/Associate Professor of Athletic Training/Clinical Education Coordinator, Athletic Training Program

The qualified candidate will teach athletic training courses in the CAATE-accredited undergraduate athletic training program.  Provide oversight for the program's clinical education, recruiting and advising of students, and provide appropriate supervision of the students.  In addition, recruit, select and re-appoint appropriately qualified clinical sites and clinical preceptors, and provide preceptor training and mentorship.

Qualifications: Doctorate in Athletic Training or related field; certified by the Board of Certification; licensed by the Florida Department of Health Board of Athletic Training, or eligible; a Christian commitment and the ability to integrate a Christian worldview into teaching and advising. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in teaching in an athletic training program; expereince as a clinical preceptor or in athletic training program administration.


School of Arts and Sciences

The Palm Beach Atlantic University School of Arts and Sciences seeks an Assistant Professor of Forensic Science and Biology or Chemistry.

Qualifications: M.S. or Ph.D. in Forensic Science, Biology or Chemistry, with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Forensic Science.  Experience working in forensic science labs is required.

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Department of Biology or Chemistry is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach a two-semester sequence of lecture and laboratory courses in Forensic Science in a B.S. degree program in Forensic Science.  While the faculty member employed will be the "point person" for Forensic Science, the qualified candidate also must be qualified to teach lower level Biology or Chemistry courses (lectures and labs) as these courses will be the remainder of the full-time teaching load.  Along with the application, please include a list of courses for which you have the qualifications to teach. 

It is important that the professor is familiar with and has experience in operating the scientific equipment commonly used in Forensic Science labs.  With your application, please list such equipment and briefly state your level of expertise with each.

Qualifications: The School of Arts and Sciences at Palm Beach Atlantic University seeks a faculty member with a doctorate or an M.A. in English or English Education (must have at least 18 graduate hours in English) and a special interest in composition.  The applicant also must have background in and passion for teaching developmental English and ESL.  The successful applicant with teach in the developmental English program, as well as in the undergraduate program in composition, and will report to the Chair of the Department of English.  Teaching duties, for an appropriately qualified candidate, also may include teaching in the required Humanities course sequence.  This position requires an early beginning as the professor will help teach "Jump Start," an orientation course for developmental students held the week before fall term.  Relevant teaching experience is required.  With the application, please provide evidence of teaching quality.

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Department of Biology is seeking to fill two full-time positions in the Biology Department. The successful candidates will be qualified by academic training to teach in at least two of the following areas of the discipline: Invertebrate Zoology, Vertebrate Zoology, Botany, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Forensic Science. All colleagues in the department are expected to contribute to the teaching fo the General Education Biology courses and the introductory level Biology courses for students in the sciences.

Also, candidates should have some secondary areas of teaching expertise in Biology.

The employed faculty member's teaching areas will be in French language and literature, and in the interdisciplinary Humanities courses in our core program. Qualifications: The successful candidate will oversee the Christian Social Ministry track within our ministry degree program.  Therefore, an M.S.W. and experience in social work/ministry is mandatory.  This candidate will also teach general ministry courses, other Bible or missions courses (as qualified), and also general education Bible Courses.  Ph.D. or Th.D. in Ministry Leadership, Christian Education, Biblical Studies, Intercultural Studies or related ministry field is required.  A Ph.D. in a field like Sociology, Anthropology or Urban Studies would be acceptable if the candidate also has an M.Div. or Th.M.  As part of the Ministry Leadership department, experience in church ministry is required.  Must have a Christian commitment along with the ability to intentionally integrate Christian faith in the coursework.
