The Dual Enrollment Program (DEP) is designed to offer high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit for Palm Beach Atlantic courses they take at their schools.
At PBA, we believe dual enrollment is part of the future of higher education; and that more students will qualify in high school to take college-level courses and enter college with anywhere from three hours to 36 hours of college credit.
The students are required to have a minimum 3.0 grade point average to enroll.
In this pilot program, which began in the fall of 2010, students use college-level textbooks and the courses are taught by their high school instructors. The instructors must have credentials to teach at the collegiate level according to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements.
All credits earned in PBA’s program are transferable to other accredited colleges and universities, including state universities such as University of Florida and Palm Beach State College.
Palm Beach Atlantic's DEP students will get exposure to many aspects of the collegiate learning environment. They will have access to the Warren Library, either on site or online. In addition, all DEP courses have an eCollege component, which gives students experience with online learning.
