Developing Christian Leaders Scholarship Program

PBA has an exciting scholarship opportunity for incoming students who aspire to be leaders. The Developing Christian Leaders scholarship program requires attendance of the Student Leadership University 101 course along with additional training at PBA during your first year.

Eligibility: Incoming full time day undergraduate freshman and attendance of the Student Leadership University 101 course prior to enrollment. Students participating in athletic, talent (music, dance & theatre), or honors programs are not eligible due to conflicting co-curricular requirements.

Application: Contact your admission counselor for application procedures.

Deadline: The deadline for the 2014-2015 school year has already passed.

Renewable: Yes, upon meeting co-curricular expectations determined by the Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership office. Amount: $1,500.

Developing Leadership Skills Process

Through the Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership office, Developing Christian Leaders provides student-leaders with opportunities and an environment to:

  • Train for success in leadership through interactive forums, structured experiences and skill-driven workshops.
  • Explore their leadership styles and passions by serving in a variety of leadership roles on campus.
  • Relate as leaders through relationships with faculty and staff.


Program Outlook

  1. Personal Focus: Learn which leadership opportunities are tailored to your strengths and weaknesses, and discover how your personality influences your leadership style
  2. Community Focus: Get hands-on leadership experiences through Workship
  3. Peer Mentor: Develop a relationship with a junior or senior peer mentor
  4. Leadership Positions: Serve in a campus leadership position

  1. Apply to PBA
  2. Complete application/essay for Developing Leaders Scholarship
  3. Receive scholarship acceptance notification
  4. Attend SLU 101 in Orlando


Year One

  1. Complete Impact Leadership Team (ILT)
  2. Attend three Connection Week activities
  3. Volunteer for one campus assistance opportunity: Athletics, Development or Ministry
  4. Make a semester commitment to one university activity or campus involvement: Clubs/orgs, Ministry or Missions


NOTE: Students are encouraged to join OverFlow Mentor Program.

Year Two
1) Assume an entry leadership position:

  • Fish leader
  • Fleet
  • RA
  • Student Assistant (Student Development or Campus Ministry Offices)
  • Campus Ministry
  • President's Ambassadors

  • Peer Leaders


2) Make a semester commitment to one university activity or campus involvement:
