The Bachelor of Arts in Music degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University is intended for students who seek a thorough grounding in the literature and materials of music, including opportunities for performance experience, within the traditional, broad-based liberal arts curriculum. You'll be nurtured here in an environment where traditional musical studies find common ground with the liberal arts and the practical demands of the music profession in a community of shared Christian values.
The faculty of the Music Department, will help you develop into a versatile musician who hears, writes and performs music intelligently and critically, who demonstrates knowledge of the historical and cultural contexts of musical works and who combines artistic and musical integrity with Christian character.

Your major will train you to be a music professional. You may be called upon to use your talents in your community and your church. Or, you may seek employment in the music industry. As a music student, events like the International Piano Festival at PBA make it possible for you to interact with world-renowned musicians and performers. You will also learn in the Vera Lea Rinker Hall, featuring the 160-seat Helen K. Persson Recital Hall with fabulous acoustics.
You also have the opportunity to perform in various groups offered through the School for Music and Fine Arts: Oratorio Chorus; Concert Choir; Women’s Chorale; Opera Workshop; PBA Symphony; Symphonic Band; Jazz Ensemble; Early Music Ensemble; World Music Ensembles; Brass Ensemble; Percussion Ensemble; String Ensemble; Woodwind Ensemble; Guitar Ensemble; Handbell Choir; and Pop-rock Lab Ensemble.
