Art Education (K-12)

An Art Education (K-12) major at Palm Beach Atlantic University provides the opportunity for students to develop not only artistic sensitivities and abilities, such as sculpture and painting, but also the skills of teaching art in a kindergarten through grade 12 educational curriculum. If you have an affinity for art, and desire to share your talent with others, this might be the major for you.

Your Experience

As an Art Education major at PBA, you’ll:

  • Enjoy limited class sizes so that you receive one-on-one instructor feedback
  • Learn from dedicated Christians who are also experts in their field
  • Complete coursework in the areas of art history, digital graphics and painting, to name a few
  • Engage in hands-on learning through internship opportunities
  • Understand that adeptness in art and creativity are gifts from God
  • Help others through service learning opportunities — within PBA and beyond

Your Faculty

At PBA, Florida’s top Christian college, you’ll learn from a blend of instructors. Your professors have decades of experience as artists. One of our faculty members has done graphic design work for Disney, Mitsubishi Motors and Pacific Mutual Insurance. Another was awarded first place in a five-state “Imaging the Gulf” competition.

Your Opportunities

Theory and practice will be studied and integrated through class discussions and field-experience observations during your student teaching in Palm Beach County schools.  PBA enjoys an excellent reputation in the community, and in educational circles. Your program will also address the Sunshine State Standards, the Accomplished Practices, and the Florida Education Standards Commission's Code of Ethics and Principles of Professional Conduct and its ramifications, which leads to first-rate employment opportunities for you after graduation.
