Alumni Golf, Tennis Event Raises $50,000 for Scholarships

The 26th annual Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association Golf and Tennis Tournament held Oct. 5 netted $50,000 for the Association’s Scholarship Fund.

More than 140 golfers and 32 tennis players participated in the event held at PGA National Resort’s Champion course and Health & Racquet Club respectively. The winning foursome, Frank Dowling, Art Johnson, Adam Zeller and Chris Zeller of Burnum-Hahn Exterminators, finished with the low gross score of 54. The winning tennis team consisted of Mark Montgomery and Veena Vasquez.

To date, the tournament has raised an endowment of $1.1 million and provided $400,000 in scholarships for Palm Beach Atlantic students. The Alumni Association recently awarded 35 annual scholarships, which are renewable by undergraduates who remain in good standing at the University.
