Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Tournament 2017

The Alumni Association of Palm Beach Atlantic University will host its 30th Annual Golf Tournament and auction Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the PGA National Resort & Spa.

 

About the 2016 Tournament

The 29th annual Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association Golf Tournament held Oct. 15 netted $57,000 for the Association’s Scholarship Fund.

 

Winners on the Champion course were the Saari Construction team, from left, of Mark Kukkamaa, Tommy Belen, Steve Calhoun and Masi Saari.

 

Nearly 190 golfers participated in the event held at PGA National Resort’s Champion and Fazio courses. The Saari Construction team was the winning foursome on the Champion with a score of 57. The team consisted of Tommy Belen, Steve Calhoun, Mark Kukkamaa and Masi Saari. On the Fazio, the U.S. Sugar team won with a score of 56. The team members were Billy Dyess, Dave Jackson, Jude Kurtz and Arnold Moore.

To date, the tournament has raised an endowment of $1.3 million and provided $564,000 in scholarships for Palm Beach Atlantic students. The Alumni Association recently awarded 49 annual scholarships, which are renewable by undergraduates who remain in good standing at the University.

A helicopter ball drop contributed to the excitement. Palm Beach Helicopters dropped 525 golf balls, and Bob Johnson was the winner of a three-day, two-night stay at PGA National Resort and Spa.

The 30th annual event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.
