PBA students at Fall 2010 Commencement
Alumni Challenge

Congratulations and welcome to the Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association!
The Alumni Challenge to new graduates has been made possible through the generosity of the Alumni Association. On graduation, each graduate will be given a $1 bill and a $2 bill. The money is yours to do with as you wish.

Here is the challenge:

PBA students at Spring 2010 CommencementYou are encouraged to use your $1 bill on graduation day as your very first annual gift to PBA. Upon leaving, individuals will be standing at the door ready to receive your gift. Next year, you will be encouraged by the Alumni Association to use your $2 bill for your second annual gift. By doing this, you will have doubled your yearly contribution to your alma mater.

From the third year until your 10th year, you are then encouraged to double your annual gift to PBA. As you advance in your profession, your level of giving will follow. By the 10th anniversary of your graduation, your annual gift will have reached $1,000.

Below is a giving chart for your first five years:

  1. 1st year - $2
  2. 2nd year - $4
  3. 3rd year - $8
  4. 4th year - $16
  5. 5th year - $32

FACTOID
Annual Fund contributions support students in need of financial assistance, which goes beyond the costs of tuition, room and board.
Alumni Participation is crucial to PBA. Foundations and corporations see each alumni contribution as a “vote of confidence.” A gift to the Annual Fund is the equivalent of shouting from the rooftops “PBA’s mission is worth supporting!”

In this instance, the act of participating is more important than the size of your gift. Every little bit helps as your gift can spur many more.

The Lord rewards a faithful steward! “Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

Why Should You Give to PBA?

  • Your contribution will help PBA students. Your contribution supports the Annual Scholarship Fund, providing much needed financial assistance to students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.
  • Tuition and fees do not cover the full cost of an education at PBA. At every higher education institution in the country there is a gap between what tuition covers and what the actual cost is. Our current tuition (tuition and fees, as well as room and board) does not cover the total cost of a PBA education. Income from PBA's endowment, as well as gifts from alumni, parents, friends, corporations and foundations makes up the remainder. Annual Fund contributions help bridge the “gap” in funding not covered by tuition. PBA prides itself in offering a quality, affordable education.
  • You benefited from similar generosity when you were a student. When you attended PBA, contributions helped keep tuition down, fund new equipment and provide academic opportunities. Now we are encouraging you to do the same.
  • Our strength is your strength. Your degree reflects PBA’s good reputation. To keep up with technology, teaching standards and educational standards of the highest quality, we need your help.
  • We have a history of quality teaching. Alumni donations help PBA hire and retain the best possible faculty and maintain a low student-teacher ratio.
