Palm Beach Atlantic University alumna Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto, R-Fort Myers, has been re-elected to the Florida Senate following Tuesday’s general election.
As a result of redistricting, Sen. Benacquisto now represents District 30 instead of 27. She has served in the state Senate since 2010 and became the deputy majority leader in 2011.
Sen. Benacquisto previously served as councilwoman for the Village of Wellington from 2002 to 2010. During her tenure, the mother of three earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from PBA’s MacArthur School of Leadership in 2009.
