Students, faculty and staff of Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Orlando Campus recently collected two boxes of toys for children in the foster care system who otherwise might not have had any presents this Christmas.
The toys were donated to help the more than 3,000 children served by Community Based Care of Central Florida, an organization charged with developing community-based services and support for children and families served by the child welfare system throughout Central Florida.
The PBA toy drive, held in conjunction with the nonprofit organization Embraced by Grace, began after Thanksgiving and ran for about two weeks, organizers said. Many of the toys were distributed to children at a holiday celebration on Dec. 10.
CBC will collect toys through Dec. 22 for children from newborns to 18 years. For information, visit the following web site: http://cbccfl.org/
