Orlando Campus Offers Summer Bible Class 'en Español'

Palm Beach Atlantic University Orlando Campus

Habla Español? Esta es una oportunidad para estudiar la Biblia en Español.

Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Orlando campus is offering a first-time opportunity this summer for biblical scholars and enthusiasts to study the Bible in Spanish.

The “Exploring the Bible in Spanish” class will delve into the overarching big story in the Bible of God’s self-revelation to the world highlighting key stories and characters in the Scriptures that illustrate the prevailing narrative.

The new summer session also will examine the genre and form of the biblical text, its theological content, and the intent of God's Word. School of Ministry adjunct professor Miguel Benitez will teach the course, which is available for credit to degree and non-degree seeking students at normal tuition rates.

Members of the public can also enroll as guests for a $50 per person non-refundable fee (books and materials extra).

The Spanish Bible class aims to serve PBA students whose first language is Spanish and others of faith within Orlando’s large and growing Hispanic community, said Dr. Eric Lowdermilk, assistant professor of biblical and theological studies and the Orlando Ministry Program coordinator. It will also be a pilot or gauge to see how the Orlando campus can better serve the needs of its community, he noted.

The “Exploring the Bible in Spanish” course is scheduled for June 28- Aug. 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. at 4700 Millenia Blvd., Suite 100, Orlando.
