The Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association hosted their Afternoon Tea and Silent Auction at The Beach Club in Palm Beach Saturday, April 27. The event benefits the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

Fonda Huizenga was the speaker at the event. Huizenga is a native Floridian, devoted wife of 21 years to Wayne Huizenga Jr., mother of four and a devout Christian. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with degrees in both biomedical and electrical engineering, and worked for both Procter & Gamble and Cordis Corporation before deciding to devote herself fully to her home and husband.
This year’s theme was “High Tea by the Sea,” and the afternoon included a silent auction and door prizes with special prizes awarded to guests with the best nautical-themed attire.
The afternoon tea menu included a selection of tea sandwiches, petits fours, chef’s assortment of petite pastries, assorted scones with clotted cream, chocolate-covered strawberries and flavored gourmet teas.
Natalie Alvarez was chair of the event committee. Members included Adelfye Cedeno, Jeana Vassalotti Colby, Janie Thomas Fogt, Sherry Hall, Shae Johnson, Audy Johnston, Lisa Bracciale Marburger, Claudia Moore, Tami Morrow Prieto, Terri Rose, Gina Sabean, Geanine Wester and Annah Wolf.
